Abundant citrus blossom, a very good sign!
We're in the midst of the citrus blossom right now, what a sweet and stunning smell hangs in the air! In fact, this is the single most typical Valencian odor in spring.
This year the citrus trees are specially beautiful and healthy-looking, thanks mainly to the rainfall of last winter. We've had a few very dry years but towards the end of 2016 over 600 liters of rain fell per square meter, in just three weeks. The groundwater level is very high and generally speaking the soils are all still moist right now. This blossom will turn into a multitude of little citrus fruits and we hope it won't get all too hot all too soon, so that the trees manage to bear the fruit right up until Christmas, when they start to ripen.
